ABOUT PASTOR JAY
Pastor Jason K. Wood
Pastor Jason K. Wood (Pastor Jay) was born on July 17, 1980 in Birmingham, Alabama to his loving parents, Leonard and Renee Wood. He was raised in Bessemer, Alabama. In 1998, he graduated from Victory Christian Academy. After graduation, he immediately went to work in corporate America with a major telecommunications company. Pastor Jay joined in holy matrimony with Melody Lewis on October 18, 2003. To this union, the couple has been blessed with three beautiful children; Kaila, Aliyah and Jason.
In obedience to the call on his life, he was ordained and licensed as a minster of the Gospel on March 29, 2009 at God’s Church by founding Pastor Dr. Leonard Wood, Sr. Pastor Jay received the call of God as a Pastor through reading the Word (Mark 6:34) on September 10, 2010.
Pastor Jay is committed to service and the word of God. He is a true man of God with a vision.
VISION
My vision is directly connected to the vision that God has given Apostle Leonard Wood, Sr. God spoke to me on June 7, 2013 and instructed me that He has called me to “support what He has established through my father.”
Like Joshua to Moses and Solomon to David, my purpose is to carry out what God has already instructed to take place. There is no “new” vision. There is just the next phase of the original vision given to the man of God, Dr. Leonard Wood, Sr.
MISSION
God instructed Apostle Wood to “teach His people and lead them in the right direction.” God connected me to that mission by telling me to “empower His people through faith and equip them for service.”
MY CALL TO THIS WORSHIP
My assignment is to teach the Word of God with love, so that God’s children can grow and prosper in the things of God. My responsibility is to feed God’s people the Word. God’s Word will create lasting change in the hearts of the believers. “Teach My Word with accuracy and simplicity so that the dormant power within My children can be awakened and activated.”
